UK Secretary Of State For Education To speak at Leading
Learning Conference

Morris MP is to open The Guardian's second Leading
Learning conference on Friday 8 March 2002 at
Kensington Town Hall.
The
Secretary of State will give an overview of the government's
strategy for education, the expectations placed upon
schools and ideritify new areas of flexibility and
freedom for school leaders.
Following
on from last year's success, Leading Learning 2
will examine how children and adults learn most effectively.
The conference will explore the key challenges facing
school leaders and LEAs over the coming years including
collaboration between schools and their structure
and organisation.
The
conference will be introduced by the Guardian's education
editor, Will Woodward, and chaired by Frank Hartle,
director of education services at the Hay Group. The
morning and afternoon sessions will feature international
speakers and innovative education practitioners.
