Smartforce to create learning programme for Macromedia Developers

SmartForce, today announced it is co-developing more than 100 hours of e-Learning content to enable developers to quickly learn how to use Macromedia tools and servers.

Available in March 2002, the e-Learning content will be delivered via a co-branded, MySmartForce platform for Macromedia customers. It will also be available to SmartForce enterprise customers and localised into multiple languages.

The learning paths developed will cover the skills necessary for the planning, design, and building of Websites, Web graphics, Macromedia Flash animation, and ActionScript applications introducing the developer to the fundamental concepts and features of the Macromedia product family.

SmartForce will co-develop these learning paths with Macromedia using e3, the underlying application architecture which integrates and supports SmartForce’s award-winning content, technology and tools and services. Through e3, users can access various learning objects from seminars and workshops to simulations, all of which will be targeted to meet specific learning objectives for the successful use of Macromedia software.

“Macromedia is committed to ensuring that our customers have effective and flexible choices for learning how to use our products," says Carolyn Lightner, vice president, worldwide educational services, Macromedia. "SmartForce has developed a high-quality platform for delivering dynamic, interactive learning content. In today's economy, e-Learning provides one of the most cost-effective ways to train employees to use software and ensure that they are as productive as possible.”

The Macromedia Flash learning paths will cover the creation of animations and the development of applications using ActionScript.

The Macromedia Dreamweaver learning paths will educate users on all phases of building Websites, including HTML content, CSS, page layout, and JavaScript behaviors.

Macromedia Fireworks learning paths will help developers to create and edit Web graphics, add interactivity using a complete set of bitmap and vector tools, and use Fireworks and Flash integration features.

Content covering ColdFusion Server will guide developers in building dynamic, data-driven Web applications from e-commerce to business automation.
