Electric Paper wins top International Award
Electric Paper, the Dublin based e-learning company,
with offices in Harrow, Middlesex, has received a
top international award at the Institute of IT Training
Awards 2002.
The company received the accolade of International
Training Project of the Year for its provision
of IT literacy training to 3,000 childcare workers
across the state of Queensland in Australia.
The
project developed for the Queensland Office of Child
Care, which was rolled out in conjunction with Electric
Paper’s Australian partner Skillgate Pty Ltd, scooped
the top prize ahead of other international projects
by Smartforce, Lionbridge Technologies, Global Learning
Alliance and Global Information Systems.
The
judges’ citation said that they were awarding the
accolade to ‘an organisation that has undertaken a
major international training project that is innovative
in concept and has produced demonstrable performance
improvement for the client.’
Commenting
on the win, Jonny Parkes, managing director of Electric
Paper said: “Over the past couple of years, we have
established a presence in the UK, US and Australia.
Our on-the-ground presence in these countries and
our localised software courses has enabled us to sign
a number of significant contracts in these markets."
“The
worldwide IT literacy market has huge potential that
still remains untapped. It is our intention to continue
to expand organically into other countries and this
recognition of our courseware as truly international
and of the highest quality will help us to establish
our name globally,” continued Mr Parkes.
Sambit
Mohapatra of the Award’s sponsors, TATA Interactive
Systems, presented the Award to Electric Paper at
the Dorchester Hotel on 7th February.
