One thousandth enrolment on the CeLP Programme
To date, over one thousand bookings have been received
from individuals now working towards a Certificate
or Diploma within the new Certified e-Learning Professional
Programme (CeLP) offered by the Training Foundation.
CeLP
represents the world’s first comprehensive online
certification programme for e-Learning professionals
and consists of more than 300 learner hours of collaborative
self-study materials with tutorial support.
Speaking
at the CIPD HRD 2002 Exhibition in London, Adrian
Snook, Director of Corporate Development for The Training
Foundation commented: “Whilst the programme builds
on the previous huge success of our On-Line Trainer
and On-Line Tutor courses, we were nevertheless surprised
by the level of demand in the eleven weeks since the
CeLP programme was launched at Learning Technologies
2002”.
CeLP
Programme Director Clive Shepherd added: "The success
of CeLP is not only a just reward for the team that
spent thousands of hours designing and developing
the programme over the past 18 months - it also indicates
how enthusiastic trainers are to upgrade their skills,
so that they can play a full part in the ongoing development
of e-Learning.”
Independent Industry commentator Vaughan Waller, Chairman
of The e-Learning Network, also greeted the announcement
with enthusiasm. “This development indicates that
the UK e-Learning industry is finally maturing. The
Government is launching major initiatives such as
the new e-Learning Task Force and people are no longer
seeing e-Learning as a fad, but as a viable career
option."
Organisations
quoted as enrolling students include Prudential, Open
University, Corporation of London, Shell, Spring,
KPMG, Pearson Education, University of Wolverhampton,
Learning Skills Council, Clerical Medical, UfI, Royal
London Mutual Insurance and Bacon & Woodrow.
