E-Learning Platform Selected by HUD
GeoLearning announced today that its ASP-delivered
e-learning platform has been selected to power online
training for the United States Department of Housing
& Urban Development (HUD).
The
Geo Learning Center™ LMS and e-learning delivery platform
will deliver, track and report data on business skills,
computer desktop training and IT skills courseware
for 10,000 HUD employees.
The
U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development is
the nation’s housing agency committed to increasing
minority homeownership, creating affordable housing
opportunities for low-income Americans, supporting
the homeless, elderly, people with disabilities and
people living with AIDS. The Department also promotes
economic and community development as well as enforces
the nation’s fair housing laws.
In
addition to HUD, GeoLearning secured e-learning platform
contracts with eight additional government clients
in the first quarter of 2002, including National Institute
of Standards & Technology (NIST), National Oceanic
& Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Courts,
U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC),
National Association of Counties (NACo), Insurance
Fraud Prevention Authority, North Carolina Department
of Labor and the Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism.
"I believe our success in the government arena can
be attributed to three distinct characteristics of
our application service provider delivery model,"
said Frank Russell, president and CEO of GeoLearning.
"Using the ASP model we deliver clients ease of implementation,
ease-of-use and unsurpassed reliability. Another decisive
factor in the federal government space is our system’s
compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation
Act, which provides for equal accessibility by people
with disabilities."
