LINE
Develops Web-based Training for Birdstep Intelligent
Mobile IP Software
LINE Communications, has been awarded the contract
to develop an interactive training and learning solution
to accompany the roll out of the latest within Mobile
IP technology.
The 4-hour learning module will be used during the
rapid deployment of the technology, developed by Norwegian
technology innovator Birdstep Technology, enabling
technical engineers to be certified and trained in
the solution prior to implementation and deployment.
Birdstep's
Intelligent Mobile IP Client technology revolutionises
the mobile and remote working experience by allowing
secure, seamless and hassle free handover between
networks such as GSM/GPRS, Wireless LAN (802.11) or
Ethernet. It will provide secure access to corporate
infrastructures from anywhere and at any time to existing
LAN (Local Area Network) without the requirement for
capital investment in new infrastructure. Cisco Systems,
Hewlett Packard Norway, PWC Consulting and the Norwegian
operator Telenor Mobile have adopted the technology
to service their clients.
The
completed e-learning module will be delivered globally
via both the Internet and Intranet for Birdstep's
global customers and partners.
The Birdstep learning solution involves the integration
of a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and
Learning Management System (LMS). LINE has developed
the learning material using re-usable learning objects
- one of the first major e-learning solutions to do
so - to enable the content to be re-purposed and redeveloped
quickly and easily to add new language versions, or
to develop it for Pocket PC, or 3G platforms.
