Royal
Bank of Scotland names VEGA as a preferred supplier
The Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) - the fifth
largest banking group in the world by market capitalisation
- has selected VEGA Group PLC as a ‘preferred supplier’
of e-learning services
VEGA will be working with RBS to create new e-learning
programmes as well updating and maintaining RBS’ existing
portfolio of e-learning programmes. They
will also provide added-value services, including
consulting advice on issues such as learning management
systems, learning strategy, knowledge management and
the innovative use of information technology.
Corin
Superfine, the VEGA Account Manager for RBS, said:
“RBS is probably one of the world’s leading users
of e-learning and they are clearly continuing to invest
in their organisation for the benefit of their customers,
staff, and shareholders.”
Brian
McLaren, Head of Training and Online Learning, Royal
Bank of Scotland Group said: "We recognised a need
for a requirement to move away from the buyer supplier
relationships which we've had in the past with our
bespoke e-learning development suppliers.
“The introduction of a preferred panel of suppliers
gives us the back up which we require to support e-learning
activity across a much-enlarged Group, which now has
over 105,000 employees globally. It also provides
the suppliers the unique opportunity to live within
our culture and help shape our e-learning thinking
as we progress forward with our growth plans. This
is a true partnership arrangement and the way that
we ultimately work together through forums and process
design will reinforce that."
Dave
Buglass, Manager, Learning Infrastructure, Royal Bank
of Scotland Group, commented: "We've carried out a
rigorous exercise against laid down criteria over
the past 12 months and this has helped us shape what
we believe to be a strong set of companies who will
provide us with the creative leading edge thinking
that we require. It has obviously taken a long time
to complete but in a way this has assisted with the
timing and we're in a stronger position now to exploit
and move forward at a quicker pace.
“We're obviously delighted to include companies, which
we have worked with previously onto a more formal
working relationship but welcome the opportunity to
work with VEGA Group PLC and BYG Systems for the first
time."
For VEGA, this news builds upon success last year,
when Lloyds TSB - the eighth largest banking group
in the world - selected VEGA as a preferred supplier
of training design, including the design and development
of e-learning solutions. With 550 staff across Europe,
and an annual turnover of £35m VEGA is one of Europe's
largest and most experienced developers of bespoke
e-learning solutions
