WebRaven partners with Advanced Academics
WebRaven
announced today it has partnered with US-based Advanced
Academics Inc., to develop and enhance an e-learning
application specifically for the seventh to twelfth
grade marketplace in the United States.
Since
2000, Advanced Academics has been using WebRaven learning
management system DOTS (Dynamic Online Training System)
to deliver courses via the web to U.S. high schools
students in
Alaska, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, California
and elsewhere.
According
to David Bevan of WebRaven, Advanced Academics has
become one of the leading providers in the rapidly
expanding seventh to twelfth grade market, adding
eight new states since January 2002. Bevan says while
DOTS had proven flexible enough to meet Advanced Academics
needs, the time had come to combine expertise and
develop a new product that is designed specifically
for the secondary education market.
“One of the obstacles faced by our competitors is
the inability to support a large number of students
with rich online education content,” says Baxter Brings,
President and CEO of Advanced Academics. “Thanks to
the combination of WebRaven DOTS and Advanced Academics
proprietary technology, we can provide the ultimate
online learning experience to an unlimited amount
of students 24 hours, 7 days a week.”
Advanced
Academics upgraded to the latest version of DOTS and
as part of the technology merger WebRaven has provided
them with source code and ongoing consultation so
that Advanced Academics can further customize the
system to meet the specific needs of the secondary
education marketplace.
For the past two years WebRaven has focused its LMS
development on corporate requirements and the co-development
project will allow WebRaven to participate in the
lucrative US K-12 market.
