Bridge
to learning in Grampian
Bridge-Learning is providing European Computer Driving
Licence (ECDL) courseware and related computer-generated
tests - initially for 1,000 students - to learning
providers in the north east region of Scotland through
Scottish Enterprise Grampian.
Bridge-Learning, which won the contract from SE Grampian
- part of Scottish Enterprise, Scotland's main economic
development agency and funded by the Scottish Executive
– chose Electric Paper’s market-leading ECDL courseware
and AutoTest software to meet SEG’s needs.
These
learning and testing materials are being made available
to learners throughout the Grampian region via local
learning providers including colleges, Chambers of
Commerce and commercial training providers. According
to SE Grampian’s Gail Smillie: “Typically, those using
the learning and testing materials supplied by Bridge-Learning,
are those who are working for small to medium sized
enterprises within the region, along with those who
are unemployed and want to improve their skills through
gaining an internationally-recognised IT skills qualification.”
Bridge-Learning’s
managing director, Andy Stevenson, commented: “Increasingly,
IT skills are becoming essential in all areas of life
– at school and home as well as at work. SE Grampian
is taking an important step in providing these basic
IT skills learning materials to help further increase
the skills pool within its region – which is already
the only part of the UK to have consistently outperformed
the growth of the global economy over a period of
20 years.”
