Pathlore
embraces open approach to learning content management
This open, interoperable approach to learning content
management systems (LCMS) augments the learning content
management functionality within its core product,
Pathlore LMS, with products from leading LCMS vendors.
Pathlore will certify the seamless integration of
Pathlore LMS with solutions from LCMS providers Avaltus
Inc, Centra Software Inc, Global Knowledge Inc, LogicBay
Corp and Trainersoft Corp, giving Pathlore customers
the flexibility to choose the LCMS that best meets
their needs.
Through the Pathlore Partner Network Certification
Program, Pathlore is collaborating with industry-leading
LCMS vendors, enabling customers to easily and rapidly
deploy best-of-breed LCMS solutions with Pathlore
LMS, to more effectively and predictably manage enterprise-learning
content.
Pathlore
customers can utilise their choice of LCMS to enable
the rapid and efficient creation of learning content
by authors, instructional designers and course developers
while continuing to use Pathlore LMS as their strategic
solution for planning, delivering and managing all
learning events, including online, virtual classroom
and instructor-led courses.
In its role as a catalyst for the overall e-learning
environment, Pathlore LMS launches the appropriate
learning content objects created, stored and managed
by an LCMS, and integrates the content with Pathlore
LMS via AICC and SCORM standards. Pathlore
LMS manages the entire content management, delivery
and tracking process following content creation, including
the importing of content, storage in a content repository,
assembly/reassembly of content objects, incorporation
into blended curricula, and the tracking of learner
progress through the course.
“This
focus on customer choice is consistent with the approaches
we’ve taken regarding content and authoring tools,”
said Brendan Herron, vice president of strategic development
at Pathlore. “While some of our LMS competitors restrict
their customers to the use of only their own LCMS,
we believe that if a customer needs the specialized
functionality of an LCMS, they should be able to select
the one that best meets their requirements, with the
assurance that it integrates seamlessly with their
LMS.”
