UN
Targets Marked with New Website and Learning Zone
In the wake of new UN 2015 targets WaterAid launches
of a new water and sanitation website with learning
zones to help teachers and students at http://www.wateraid.org.uk
For
21 years WaterAid has been helping provide the world's
poorest people with safe water and sanitation. With
new UN targets set for 2015 WaterAid is launching
a new website which will help people find out more
about water, sanitation and hygiene promotion - and
what WaterAid is doing to help the 1.1 billion people
in the world without safe water and 2.4 billion people
without adequate sanitation in the 21st century.
The
site incorporates a brand new Learn zone ( http://www.wateraid.org.uk/site/learn_zone/
) with a detailed teachers section broken down into
resources for Key Stages 1-4 giving National Curriculum
and National Numeracy and Literacy links - making
lesson planning easy for teachers.
In
addition there is a completely new children's section
in the Learn zone with areas for under 11's, 11-14
and 15-18 year olds linking resources to age groups.
Young site visitors can now choose to read about the
lives of children the same age as them in Africa and
Asia and learn how safe water and sanitation changes
their lives.
